1️⃣ ’S – POSSESSION: (Who does it belong to? / ¿De quién es?)

EN 🇺🇸 Explanation

We use ’s to show that something belongs to someone or something.

Structure: Person / place + ’s + object


ES 🇪🇸 Explicación

Usamos ’s para indicar que algo pertenece a alguien o algo.

Estructura: Persona / lugar + ’s + objeto

3️⃣ S – THIRD PERSON (HE / SHE / IT): (Present tense verb / Presente simple)

 EN 🇺🇸 Explanation: In the present tense, verbs add S when the subject is: he / she / it


 ES 🇪🇸 Explicación: En presente simple, los verbos llevan S cuando el sujeto es: he / she / it

 Examples:

She works in Valencia.

He travels for business.

The hotel opens at 8.

My colleague speaks English very well.


4️⃣ ’S – CONTRACTION (IS / HAS): (Short form / Forma corta)

 EN 🇺🇸 Explanation: ’s can also be a contraction of:
