What is the DarKha Bilingual Book Club?

The DarKha Bilingual Book Club is a monthly community event where participants read literature aloud in English and Spanish, discuss vocabulary and culture, and enjoy meaningful conversations in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Why read books in two languages?

Reading bilingual literature helps improve pronunciation, listening skills, vocabulary, and reading fluency. It also builds confidence by allowing learners to experience authentic language in context while sharing ideas with others.

What are we reading this month?

This month we'll explore selected stories from The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros.

Together we'll:

📖 Read aloud in English and Spanish.

👂 Practice listening comprehension.

💬 Discuss vocabulary and expressions.

🌎 Explore cultural themes and personal experiences.

No previous experience is necessary—everyone is welcome.

Our Book Club is open to:
